From the Classroom: FINAL DRAFTS!
After an awesome two and a half months together, our classroom sessions for BGT have come to a close. This week, both PS 123 and PS 75 came to the Starr to see the actors read the final drafts of their plays out loud. As they watched their plays come to life, the playwrights were excited and engaged, laughing and smiling, and looking very proud to hear their own words performed by professionals. By turns hilarious and moving, these plays tell stories about many different problems associated with climate change, from rising sea levels to increasing storms. From now through April, the plays will be in the hands of the cast and production team, who will rehearse and stage each play and present them to the public for the BGT Festival, April 24-26. We’re so excited to start this next phase of the program, and we can’t wait for the student playwrights and their peers to see their work in its final form!
